Here’s some life…

April 4th, 2007 by Ryan

Alright, so yeah, I haven’t exactly fixed this entire thing. I’ve been way too busy to do so, but with any luck it’ll all fall back into place in the next month or so. Seeing as how I actually work for a Web Company now, which I’ll decline to mention since I’m not sure of their policy on that, my time’s taking…more…time?

Doing a three hour commute in the morning and a four hour one at night isn’t the most fun thing in the world, but the job is worth it. Within the next month, I’ll either hopefully overhaul Arctic one more time or just put it back into proper working order - I’ve written so much for Newsforge and done so much other crap recently that this has become horrifically out of date. I’d like to turn this into more of a possible writing podium or something, but I dunno. Thoughts?

Eh, it’s something.

So, to reiterate for the umpteenth time, this uhh…isn’t dead. It’s just kind of in an in-between period, it just needs to find itself. *coughKindoflifeChubopiecough*

At any rate, I’ll probably fix this thing sometime in 2007-ish. I won’t have the time to do anything until then, though I may move off Kyou’s server soon. He’s off in Japan, so god only knows how to get ahold of him. Ten bucks says he’ll rice out a Civic or something.

Writing more articles for Newsforge, but it’s going to pay for College expenses in the end. Too bad, because it’s essentially somewhere in the two grand mark, if I’m counting right, but alas, College must be dealt with. That’s about all I got to say right now - I guess I just wanted to update so that nobody, or the very few who look at this right now, would think it’s dead.

Those who need to contact me know how. Until next time, or something. I dunno.

Not dead yet.

October 19th, 2006 by Ryan

Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. Much like Dash over at Chubopie, my life’s been kind of shot into the drain. Things look better now, and I’m finally getting back into the online aspect of things after taking a ton of time to work. For those who may or may not actually follow this site, I apologize for never having the time to fix it. I realize it’s been like this since July, but it was kind of out of my hands for awhile.

Anyway, in my time away, I got a few things done. For one, I got my third Linux-based article published. This time, I wrote about Ktoon, an up and coming animation suite. This article was actually published on Linux.com, and not just Newsforge, which is a bit different from my earlier articles. Maybe I’m moving up in the ranks, who knows. Working on a few more articles now, and I’m looking forward to getting them published.

I’m going to be fixing this up more sometime this week, since it’s been woefully neglected of my attention. In terms of some other cool items, check out Poison Mushroom, a site that collects random bits of videogame news from around the net. I was on hand for the initial design of the site itself, but due to things out of my control, I wasn’t around for the actual programming. This was done by Delta of Mega Man Empire. Pretty kickass job.

On one final note, everyone head over to Chubopie and help my brother buy a Wrangler. Not sure if it’ll actually help, but you never know. We’ve pulled off stupider things. Expect more updates and what not in the coming days.

Alright, so it’s back on the table.

July 16th, 2006 by Ryan

There, finally put some semblance of a design on the table here. The one problem is that I haven’t transplanted all the content yet. This means, for any people viewing this, it’s a live design. That is, expect to see things change constantly. Still looking to add a search engine as it is.

Sadly, due to the events in my family life, I’ve not been able to get in touch with Dash, who runs what I guess you could call my “brother site”. I’m sure he’ll put up something whenever he can, though. I realize he recently lost internet access, so here’s hoping we see Chubopie sometime soon.

This also brings me to my next point: I’d like to dedicate this design to my brothers and my sister. Even though all this stupid shit has happened, I still love you guys, and I’ll always be there for you. E-mail me, call me, whatever you want. You guys mean a hell of a lot to me.

I guess I should also point out that Kyoushu.com is now fully functioning - what caused the massive server wipe is now past. Besides Arctic and Chubopie, Kyoushu himself has a personal site. Turns out he’ll be staying in Japan soon, and is going to be blogging about it whenever he can. Should be an interesting read, you should all go check it out.

Really, that’s about it for now - working on fixing more of the portfolio up each day. This server crash cost me a client or two, but it’s also allowed me rebuilding time - I’m beginning to like this look. I love keeping the whole cityscape idea, even if it’s a smaller focus within this design, and I’m now opening the option to buy pre-made designs. I also managed to pull off the whole “No Divs” philosophy here, which is kind of cool. Second design in a row where I managed to. With that said, there’s more work to do. Hope you guys enjoy it.
